Radio Stations

Mark started visiting Radio Stations last December in Los Altos. He has met some incredible people that own and operate popular stations that broadcast to the Tseltal speaking people. There are many types of music popular amongst the communities but one that is consistently in demand is Christian faith based music. Local bands, individual artists both local and national are played continuously and listened to as people cook, work in their fields, travel in taxis and buses. It makes for a happy and cheerful way for communities to connect with each other and their relationship to the Divine. In preparation for a Christmas Kickoff community event we are enlisting the support of Radio superstars who keep the songs coming. We have had positive responses. Subsequent visits in April and now this month will help us prepare for the year end as we bring our work with hymns to the people who sing them. Next post we’ll add some of the music highlights we’ve come across while doing our research and making friends.
