Cottage Business Course

A self-reliance manual has been translated from the Spanish version of Interweave Solutions’ Business for Success into Tseltal language. It teachers basic concepts of entrepreneurship such as marketing, accounting, and finance. Paty Gomez has been working on the translations since last year for this 12 chapter course. Prior to this translation one had to learn Spanish to take this course. Now, Tseltal speakers can get to the meat of the matter faster by reading or just listening as a teacher reads and facilitates the curriculum in the language they understand fully.

This manual has also been translated into the Amharic and Kekchi languages.

After a review process Paty Gomez and Mike Peck will travel to Guatemala to train facilitators so the principles from this course can spread throughout Kekchi speaking communities. We hope this can bless lives in Los Altos too among our Tseltal speaking friends.
